I was in desperate need of something to hold my belly in, and most importantly - breasts up - under my plus size wedding dress. After searching numerous brick and mortar and online stores for an affordable option that fit the bill, it is this corset that I kept coming back to. The clock was ticking, and my stomach was in knots when I thought of having to count on a "cheap" last-minute, online shapewear option. But, I took a leap of faith, and clicked the order button. The corset arrived just one day prior to the takeoff of my elopement flight. I exhaled a quick sigh of relief when a high quality corset with durable fabric arrived. Relief turned to exhilaration after I was cinched in with my wedding dress on, and the fit looked perfect.Since I did not have one, I took an even greater risk for disappointment by not using a tape measure to determine my correct corset size. Instead, I ordered a size 5-6x, one size smaller than the size chart said would fit my size 18 - 5'8" frame - since a slightly smaller size wouldn't be too big, and a smaller size would still cinch closed. As expected, about an inch of skin on my back was not covered by the fabric; however, the length covered my long waist perfectly. In hindsight, it really didn't matter that I ordered a smaller size, since the corset was fully covered by my wedding dress. Overall, it did what I hoped for, and served its purpose well, by perching my breasts and holding my belly tight, while helping me feel fabulous and confident on my elopement day.Because this corset has plastic boning it may not be optimal for long term wear; however, it most definitely is the perfect solution for a most special wedding day.
