Excellent Performance - Cannot remove nozzle

I bought this for 3 reasons, positive feedback on quality of finish, low CFM requirements and price. Overall, I'm happy with the performance of the Neiko 31215A on all three devices. My main application is woodworking. In the past I have had trouble applying conversion polish which is very difficult to work with. I usually get an orange peel that needs polishing. Neiko's finish was pretty good. Maybe not perfect, but very close, no polish. I have also used it with Sparlack without thinning. I think the 1.7mm nozzle was too small for the thicker spar paint and that coverage wasn't as good. Looks like I'll have to dilute or buy Neiko with a larger urethane coating die. Too bad Neiko doesn't have interchangeable earbuds. Rating of the quality of the finishes 4.5 stars. The seller's claim that you only need 4.5 cubic meters per minute is only a slight exaggeration. I have used this on two compressors. One was rated at 4.5 cfm at 100 psi. The other was rated at 6 cfm at 90 psi. The compressors ran continuously during spraying. But they seem to have held up well enough. They continue to work for some time after the spraying stops. I have used a 5 gallon portable tank combined with a 5 gallon tank to store a total of 10 gallons. I think with only 5 cfm at 90psi and 5 gallon capacity the supercharger might not be enough. But it worked MUCH better than other HVLP sprayers I've used. CFM rating 5 stars. Like others, I could not remove the cleaning head. I tried soaking in xylene and again after use and cleaning. But the nozzle didn't budge. I was really concerned that adding more torque would damage the tool. It would be nice if you could remove the nozzle. But I was able to properly clean the atomizer with the nozzle in place. I removed all the other parts and shot some cleaner through the gun's inlet and needle holes. The next time it was used, everything worked perfectly. Overall the fit and finish is clearly not as good as the more expensive atomizer I have. But it's still pretty good. Air cap handling was okay, but not great. The nozzle, needle and gun itself were fine but not impressive. Some reviews complained that the aluminum cup was flimsy. I found the bowl ok but not strong. It didn't give when pulled at the top, but it probably wouldn't withstand really strong pressure. If you accidentally drop the atomizer, the shell will most likely bend on the bracket and will probably wrinkle. Holds up well with normal use. For less than $40, the Neiko offers excellent value for money. This value is reduced by the need to purchase multiple nozzles to provide flexibility in nozzle size selection. But still a great buy. Price rating 5 stars for cheap guns.
