I've been using it as a preventive measure since I first sprained my ankle playing tennis and have worn it ever since. I recently bought a new one to replace a worn out school set and it works exactly the same. It feels really tight and you really feel like it's restricting your ankle's movement, which is good since you want to prevent it from rotating again. Also fits in my shoes. Warning: do not machine wash them and definitely do not put them in the dryer. They shrink and become unusable. Hand wash, air dry. Washing in the washing machine also weakens the seams. UPDATE: After less than two years of use, the ankle brace ripped completely. I am very disappointed with the current model. I bought the exact same ankle brace from McDavid in 2012 and I've been using it since high school and it's held up to this day. I still use it. For some reason, however, this new model doesn't have that much durability. It's still the same brand but I think they changed the formula or production for it as it doesn't seem to last as long.
