I was a bit concerned when I removed the sticker that said 'hand wash gently' but then thought it was the same brand that I have used many times on mine have cat, no problem. You know what, I gently washed my hands and put the dry food in one bowl and the wet food in another. The cat ate with no problem. I took the bowls and washed them in the sink. WASHED, not scrubbed, and the paint started coming off with a jet of water. Oh my god, did my cat eat any of that color?!? I bought some bowls because I was going on a short trip and I didn't want my pet spending a lot of time washing dishes when they can play with Cat. EACH BOWL has now lost all color after the first use. Now that the paint is gone and the stainless steel bowl is left I'm guessing the bowl is usable, but who wants to worry about the paint their pet might have picked up?!
