Works great! I eat ice cream every day and scoop it out of quart-sized ice cream tubs and I think it's excellent. I feel good in my hand and with some muscle (a spoonful of "what do you mean?") I found it glided perfectly where I directed it. Could easily make round spoons if I wanted, or scoop deep and come out with half a container if I wanted. If you can apply some force to your shovel hand (and I'm weak, I'm only 100 pounds) you'll love it. It's well made (I got the black stainless steel, which is a few bucks more) and the rubber grip is perfectly balanced and comfortable. It appears this is a solid piece that will not fall apart. Very happy with this reliable ice cream workhorse!
