I've had this device for a few months and use it with my Macbook and iPad Pro to charge it faster than regular 2.4A USB chargers. With USB-C, it charges my Macbook Pro 30- 60W, iPad Pro 28W and USB-C power adapter max 45W. It gets quite hot at over 30W load but never burns. I love that it's USB-IF certified and UL listed and comes with a USB-C cable. However, in a quiet environment, a high-pitched coil tone is heard. Even more annoying is that the pitch changes. For example, when I scroll through a webpage on my iPad while it's connected, the scrolling sound gets louder. Edit (8/2018): I received an updated replacement model (vs the original purchased on 4/2018) from Nekteck. The new one has black instead of red USB ports and is significantly quieter. The sound of the new model is no longer noticeable unless it is very close to the head. Increased the rating for the new model.
