Mods needed for a base 2013 Toyota Tacoma Small Cab with base Toyota Audio

I don't do that much but the product turned out to be no less than in good condition in a small envelope. I was thrilled to see the audio screen in my 2013 Toyota Tacoma which was listed as a perfect fit. Well, it was far from perfect. Grips with attached side wings were unusable. It fits perfectly in the CD player slot, but I haven't tested if you can actually take it out, put a CD in and put it back in, I'm assuming it will work somehow. I have emailed people at Nextgadget three times. NO ANSWER. I've used it without wings, mostly with success. Due to the almost non-removable side panels I was able to detach once, I lifted them up, traced the slots for the side handles and cut them out with razor shears. Attached are photos of the renovation. Now it "FITS" like it should, or it should have been a bit narrower to begin with. My disappointment was in fact the lack of response from Nexgadget. The product now works as it should. I'm attaching a photo of the changes I had to make.
