Review on DECKER Nonstick Reversible Stainless G48TD by Todd Mamat

Why some users are dissatisfied with the current Black and Decker waffle maker

This is an edit of my previous review to better describe the affected models. ) does not correspond to the quality of an identical waffle iron (genuine model G48TD) that I have been using since 1995. Complaints from Revain customers about uneven waffle cooking, warping, and poor nonstick properties stem from two design and manufacturing changes: the original's pans are thicker, weighing 25 ounces each; those of the current model are thinner and weigh 18 ounces each. Thinner pans are more prone to warping over time. In addition, as can be seen in the photo, the grille of the new block is not as tight to the body as on the old one. They are not "gelled". The new model has a gap between the grille and the body on the back of the device. This could explain uneven cooking compared to the front of the unit. I can't say anything about the quality and durability of the non-stick coating at the moment. I've tried replacing my "old" pans with new ones, but they don't fit. The body design has changed. This is a big disappointment as the old units were functional and beautifully designed and manufactured. There are no comparable analogues on the market. The current model doesn't match the quality of the same waffle maker I've been using since 1995.
