Don't tell my family as I live alone and I've been cleaning the stairs in the basement of cat hair and was very impressed with how long I could stretch the original hose until I was just pulling hard enough pushing the whole vacuum cleaner down the stairs behind me. Of course he hit me on the knees and knocked over the last 2 steps. After I got out of the vacuum, dusted myself off and finished swearing, I was disappointed to find that I had dented the original hose quite badly and it was no longer working properly. I go to Revain where I used to buy parts for this vacuum and evaluated several replacement hoses before settling on this one. I'm the kind of person who always reads the comments carefully and I knew some people were discussing their issues, but the cost was pretty low and there were more than enough good reviews. I followed the advice of the person who suggested cleaning the grip tube before putting the hose on and I also cleaned the area around the bottom but for the most part I cleaned it while taking it apart. I'm happy to report that it fits perfectly, works great and I've had no problems - the hose slides over the pipe just as easily as the original, the hose material is acceptably thick and the bottom coupler makes a good seal too. My vacuum came from Sam 15 years ago and is a unique combination of magenta and teal and I felt that the yellow part of the hose adapter only added to the uniqueness of my vacuum. I would definitely recommend this product to people considering it and have had no issues with my DC-07, fit and functionality.
