Bought this to replace a cheap wooden pole in my closet that was horribly bent (literally very gentle U ). I've tried various solutions including nailing a pole support to the wall to support the wooden pole, only to have the wooden pole bend more and take the pole support with it. Apparently the wall in my closet is too weak to support the rod. I searched for several solutions before I found this one. This steel rod does what my wooden rod can't: not only does it support the weight of my jackets, it also flexes minimally (partly because it's adjustable). However, this is normal for all bars that do not have a wall bracket in order to distribute the weight of the clothing evenly on the bar. Please note: you will need a strong support to nail the ends of the pole to. . Luckily my closet has two pieces of hardwood against the wall where the end of the rod was tucked in between. So make sure your wardrobe meets this requirement. Also, it's better to consider a rod support (if your wall unit is strong enough) if you want to adjust the rod longer to its maximum adjustable length (96 inches), just to make sure you don't overstretch the rod. I got these because I was only looking for an 80" rod. You might want to look elsewhere if you need a much longer rod as stretching the rod past 90" puts a lot of stress on the rod and will likely bend it a lot I am happy with my purchase and think it is a wise investment
