This is my third Samsung LCD monitor for PC, I've had a 22" 226BW at 1680x1050 for over 3 years and a 25.5" T260 at 1920x1200 for over a year (had a bad 22" and has been replaced - 226BW Review here January 19th, 2008). Anyway, I bought the B2230 to install a 3 LCD gaming rig, if it could be replicated I would buy another monitor viz the P2250 which I will be buying for a third LCD to complete the setup. The pixel pitch on this monitor is about the same as the 22" and 25.5" monitors (0.28xxxmm - the P2250 has a pixel density of 0.24xxx - more pixel density = better image quality.) I was hoping for sharper clarity for the 1920 x 1080 resolution of a monitor of this size, especially considering that a 25.5" screen is almost has the same pixel density as a 4" screen. The 25.5" screen is as sharp as the 21.5". l text on the website, and for me that's the holy grail of display quality: the instrument panel in the cockpit. Readability in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Of course, there's a sharpen option in the menu, but it just doesn't. It doesn't help much with what I was expecting. Having said that, this is still a good monitor for the average user. It's a few pounds lighter than the 22" and works really cool. The touch menu options and feel are pretty much standard for Samsung. For people new to Samsung LCDs for PCs, the touch-sensitive 'buttons' will like it cumbersome and difficult to use from the front, but they aren't. Certainly better than blindly fiddling with the Samsung buttons on the side and bottom of my other two monitors.Likewise, the glossy bezel may be off-putting to some and is definitely a magnet for Dust and fingerprints But I like gloss - it seems to be the norm with manufacturers these days and it goes with everything else in a home TV/monitor There is no red 'tint' here to rival the beautiful T260, but hey it still looks good on a table The bracket can be tilted, but as is usual in this price range, there is no height adjustment tors can be lowered to less than 60% right out of the box, which will take some time to calibrate. All in all, for those who want a regular 21.5-inch LCD with 1080p capability, this is an acceptable monitor, but as mentioned, not recommended for those who appreciate higher pixel density output. Think of this LCD as a company rental from Samsung's 1080p Buick monitors: it does the job and Grandpa thinks it's amazing, but nothing to show off to friends.
