Even though I like Apple the most, it's like they have another department that takes care of everything connect you to the Mac. I'm on my third Mac in over 15 years and they keep changing connections. Also, Macs use the lousiest cables, so you only have to replace the PSU because the cable snapped (but I digress). It's ridiculous that you have to buy this add-on so you can plug in all the USB hardware you already bought into your new MacBook. Either way, unless you're planning on doing what Apple wants (I guess) and replacing all your peripherals with their stuff - you're going to need one of these. And my experience with the adapter was ok. It has 3 USB ports, a couple of SIM card slots and you can connect the power adapter at the same time. To be fair, Apple should just give you one of these if you spend a few thousand on a new Mac - but that's certainly not their business model. So if you're looking for a well-made adapter that'll easily connect anything to your laptop, this will fill the bill.
