For the last four years I have struggled with occasional discomfort and gum swelling over a maxillary rear molar which the dentist had to push back to treat the onset of caries below the gumline at the root tip. Every time I ate certain foods, especially acidic ones, my gums would swell up and cause discomfort in my tooth. Regular brushing will immediately cause bleeding if it gets in this area. I've tried rinsing with salt water or peroxide but the relief was temporary. After brushing with regular toothpaste but with a light tap on the sensitive area, I brushed the gum area with Sensodyne Sensitivity and Gum using an extremely soft toothbrush. The next morning the gums were no longer swollen and sensitive. I perform this procedure nightly with no further bleeding, swelling or tenderness in that gum area. What a relief!
