I like that the leaves are silky rather than plastic and not solid green. The leaves have yellow stripes to make them look real. I'm glad they are waterproof because I woven them on a street arch. At first I braided the ivy in and out, but straight up, then I moved on to braiding the ivy sideways - over the left diamond, then the right and so on, and it looked a lot better. The ivy falls over the edge because the lanterns are on the upper arch. I used clear nylon ties to attach the top and bottom pieces. The ivy really stunk when I opened the bag - sort of like chemicals. Maybe it's because the ivy is sprayed to make it waterproof, but I opened the bag and put the ivy outside to air. When I put it on the grate the next day, there was no longer any odor.
