Review on πŸ”Œ Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Unibody Aluminum Data Hub for MacBook, iMac, Surface Pro, and More by Gary Haymon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great little USB 3 hub, but you might run into a Windows 10 problem you didn't expect.

This 4-port USB 3 hub from Anker connects to one of the rear USB 3 ports on your computer. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, which is convenient access to my USB 2 and 3 peripherals. It can also charge devices like cell phones, although I don't use it for that purpose. But we got to this point with some effort, and not because there's anything wrong with the device. When I first plugged the hub into my computer's USB 3 ports, it only recognized USB 2 devices. I called Anker and got a replacement hub over the weekend. Same result when I plugged it in! At that point, I had spent some time on the Internet, believing that the problem was something else, and finally discovered that Windows 10 (or one of its updates) allows the computer to "see this device (the USB 3 root hub of the turn off the computer). " ) to save power. After disabling this feature, Anker Hub worked great. I called Anker again and told them the problem wasn't with their device, it was with Windows 10. They kindly refused my return of the replacement device , which they sent me. , good guys from Anker. Many thanks to them for a great attractive product. I hope it can help others who encounter this problem, you can disable windows 10 ability, usb 3 root HUB by going to Device Manager and double clicking ROOT HUB (USB 3.0).Select PROPERTIES and click the POWER MANAGEMENT tab, then uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB 3 ROOT HUB to save energy, and then click OK.

  • Same as always
