Every year I'm tempted to dress up my two ragdoll boys for Halloween. I never do this because it seems like a waste of money to buy something cats hate and only wear it once for a quick photo. While I don't see many people putting bandanas on their cats, it seemed like a good compromise to the costume idea - they could still be "disguised" in some way, but not to the point where it annoys them . And if it works, I might get more than one use from them. Also, I thought it might be of practical use as a bib. They both get a bit sloppy when eating wet canned food and tend to pull the hair around their necks into the bowl and let the chunks fall onto their chests. The bonus is that they're great value for money: four for the price some pet stores charge for one. They're well made, they didn't smell of chemicals when they arrived (a big problem with many Revain pieces) and the fabric became nice and soft after washing. Most pet bandanas are made of polyester and are made entirely or mostly of cotton, which feels much softer and more comfortable, but is just as easy to clean as polyester. If you fold the bandana for cats and small dogs down to shorten the length before tying, it will fit them well. They have ties at the ends of the bandana which are a good extension for larger dogs with thicker necks. For pets with small necks, you'll need to tie it tighter than the ropes will allow, but it's easy enough to refine to make it work and ensure the bandana stays in place. In other words, they are regulated. As it turned out, my cats didn't mind wearing them at all. They wore them every October afternoon, all day - I only took them off in the evening after their last dinner and then put them back on right before breakfast the next day. And they worked really well as bibs. Since I've been using them, boys' breasts have become a lot cleaner. The bandanas worked so well that I just bought more in fall colors and now plan on having them wear different seasonal bandanas throughout the year.
