I have this USB 3.0 4-port hub/BC 1.2 USB charger with 5V power adapter/2A for iPad/tablet and iPhone/smartphones) to mount on a custom desk top that I built for a standalone desktop. I mounted them centrally under and behind the monitors so I can connect the camera, DVD drive, charging pad, and other peripherals connected to my Mac mini 2020. The hubs plug directly into the Mac without using the included power adapter (I've read in reviews that plugging into a computer and a power adapter can damage the computer) and I've had no problems at all. Had been considering $200 USB hubs but these 2 items filled the bill. An SD card reader is great. A catwalk integrated into the hub allows the cable to exit cleanly under the table. The biggest problem was actually finding a hole saw to cut the holes. This one, Bosch HB231 2-5/16 inch. Bi-metal hole saw, worked perfectly. The hubs fit tightly into the holes. I used a rubber mallet and a padded block of wood to lightly tap around the perimeter until it was flush.
