. I was so excited about this can opener that I immediately put the batteries in it and put it on the table. After 5 minutes my daughter thought she smelled something and I thought it was just a cat that left us a present in the tray. After 10 minutes I smelled it too. My daughter grabbed the can opener and dropped it as it felt hot! I grabbed it and the batteries were piping hot! He didn't even exist! I used a tool to pull out the batteries as they were melting before my eyes. Normally I would put it in the drawer after I put the batteries in.
