We have had seasonal lights on the eaves of our home for many years, but the traditional mini lights always broke after a few years. We decided to try the LED lighting system and found multi-colored LED string lights. The plan was for the lanterns to serve as "holiday lights" (green, red, orange, etc.) on these occasions, and also to serve as front security lights (white lights) the rest of the year. . I place them under the eaves for indirect lighting and it creates a nice effect. I set them to a sunrise/sunset light sensor timer and they work great. I appreciate that the lights even have a dimming option. I connected four sets together (highly recommend) and it fit our needs (60ft). I would like to point out that when I originally assembled the four lengths I found that only the first two worked correctly and was concerned that the lighting controller might only work/power two lengths. I contacted customer service (via email) with the issue and they were very helpful in fixing the issue. It took a few email exchanges, but it turned out that the third length had a faulty connector. They quickly sent replacements. We loved the multi-light options for the winter break and even changed colors on a few occasions to support our sports teams. seems fun.
