The thing worked great! After trying almost everything to display my desktop on a Dell laptop through a projector, the image on the wall was at the same time trying to get to Fort Knox! I don't have the old style video port (blue color) on my laptop, only HDMI and Mini Display Port. I connected my laptop to a ViewSonic projector with an HDMI cable, and no matter what I did, I couldn't view the laptop's desktop on the wall and at the same time see the desktop/use the mouse on the laptop. . I could see the laptop desktop on the wall through the projector but the laptop screen was black. I've tried disabling the display drivers one by one, which I have 2 of on this advanced laptop, one Intel and the other nVidia, but nothing worked. turned on the projector after connecting the cables to the laptop, bam. Black streaks grew on both sides of the screen on the laptop desktop and once the projector warmed up, the laptop desktop was displayed on the wall AT THE SAME TIME! YUP! My wife can now see AND use her laptop screen and mouse while displaying the image on the wall where her students are looking! my wife is happy She uses a laptop with a projector when she teaches.
