Review on Dorman 576 855 Fuel Tank by Chris Rob

I needed to replace the original fuel tank on my 90's Camry and have heard that the Dorman brand fuel tank is made of thicker metal than the others but you will pay for that. Well I couldn't turn down a Revain deal, I paid almost as much as I would pay at any of the chain dealerships for a much cheaper quality tank. This Dorman tank came with all required gaskets and bolts and everything is replaced. from the old tank no problem. The holes for the fuel pump bracket and fuel gauge bracket matched the Dorman tank perfectly and installation was a breeze. The rubber isolators on the tank mounting straps were dry rotted so I cut a garden hose in half and it works great keeping the metal away from the tank. If you need to replace the fuel tank I would recommend the Dorman brand if you plan on keeping it on the car for a while. You will most likely have other rust problems, so check any metal lines under the car and replace if necessary. My simple job was to replace the entire fuel system line due to rust. Luckily everything else was still available from the dealer.
