Review on πŸ”§ Neiko 10573B Torque Screwdriver Set 1/4" Drive Long Shank, 10-50 In-Lb Range, 20 Bits by Jasneet Jazzy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good torque screwdriver at a great price

I am a qualified electrician. Torque screwdrivers are a must these days. I like to buy small, but their torque wrench only works up to 40 pounds, which doesn't work with Square-D 50A breakers. This is Neiko in a nice case that includes a screwdriver and bits and they fit really well. It's a bit heavy, but the grip is large and easy to hold, especially when tightened to 40 and 50 inches per pound. I'm a bit disappointed that the #2 square nozzle isn't included in the kit. This is one of the most commonly used bits in switchboards, but I've added my own. Some of the other torque screwdrivers available have 1/4" hex screwdriver bits, but I chose this one because it also allowed me to use my 1/4" socket set. In hindsight, I would go with a 1/4" hex tool and just get the socket adapter. As you can see from the product image, the chrome plated bit holder is larger in diameter than the shank to accommodate the bits. This makes some jackhammer screws more difficult to tighten, especially Eaton/Cutler jackhammers which are slotted and have high amperage. The bit holder prevents you from inserting a slotted bit fully and directly into the screw slot. You must push very hard or you will break the screw before you reach the torque rating "When you get the torque value you want it feels really good. There's a loud click and the handle only turns about a quarter turn so it's almost impossible to miss. Overall, this is a good torque screwdriver at a great one Price.
