The description is wrong - it is actually a "post motor " filter

Here is a "pre motor" filter ---&gt; Search for it: Bissell Powerforce Helix Bagless Washable Premotor Filter #1608225, Black. The "engine pre-filter" sits on top of the dirt container and is made of foam about 3/4" thick. I kept the item I received (post-engine filter) because it fits my car: So one star for fit, 2nd star for a decent price.
