Review on Loctite Pipe Sealing Thread Water: Ultimate Solution for Leak-Free Plumbing by Chris Peck

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This stuff really works.

I bought an OVE bidet from Canada that has an anti-knock valve on the wall and the threads were too long causing the valve to press against the new brass wall fitting I had installed. I couldn't grind the end down because part of the mechanism is flush with the end of the valve. I've tried two types of sealant and also teflon tape but couldn't seal it. I used a 16" pipe wrench and tightened it so much I was afraid of breaking the brass mounting screws in the wall. I finally managed to caulk it with gas pipe grease, but the orientation of the valve was wrong (the outlet was down when it should have been) and I wasn't sure the pipe grease would hold in the system. I knew Loctite. 55 but it's so expensive I bought Loctite 55 and applied it and it sealed straight away. I only had to tighten it half as fast as before and was able to line up the valve in the correct position, which I was not able to do before. This is amazing stuff; My only complaint is that you have to buy so much of it. Come on, Loctite stocks half or a quarter of these.
