Poor color reproduction, small image, restricted location

I was very disappointed with this ViewSonic projector. I've been a huge View Sonic fan for at least 20 years. My first really big monitor, old, heavy and deep, was the View Sonic and the picture quality was outrageous. Because of this, I've tried to buy View Sonic monitors whenever I could. We have a lovely flat screen TV from View Sonic which has really good sound for a TV. However, this monitor was lame. The color was a mess, the picture size is too small, the sound quality is terrible and makes me nauseous looking. The color was too yellow in some scenes, too red in some, too blue in others! I finally found an adjustment that helped, but then all faces were pretty blurry. However, this was preferable to the rich yellows, blues and reds we received. Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. After the color issue was resolved, the size of the image became the deciding factor and I was forced to return it. The native aspect ratio is 10:9. If you have a movie with a different aspect ratio (most are 16:9 or 4:3), the screen will shrink by a ton to fit the movie. At 4:3, the top foot and about a foot on each side were cut off. There is a very small range associated with image size over which the projector can be adjusted. For a given screen size (we have 120 inches) you have a very small area where you can place the projector and focus on that size. My previous and now my replacement for this both have a range of several feet for any screen size. "The sound quality is very poor. It skips a lot of frequencies and is harsh, it rattles in your head. Finally a correction is made that makes me sick of Super Motion. We had a Dell DLP projector before and I have this one right now replaced View Sonic on a Dell DLP projector (from eBay since Dell stopped making all projectors) and none of them make me sick in the same movie Of course I get nauseous pretty easily The projector is a ViewSonic projector mount .As far as I can tell they sell a universal mount for all their projectors it is huge and hangs 2ft from the ceiling.

Pros
  • ZOOMED MOVIES & GAMES: Full HD (1920 x 1080p) cinematic experience on screens up to 300 inches
Cons
  • Good but not great
