I used to have one but the glass tube wasn't protected so I dropped it and broke it. After a series of those round non-detachable thermometers that all ended up being washed and ruined I finally searched and found this one. It's just great. You can stick it in a roast or whatever, if you put it in the oven you can wash it (but don't use the scratch on guide) and the glass is protected by metal. The only thing preventing it from being perfect is the guide that was just drawn. My old one had a cooking temp that was better.
