It's literally all you need except honey and a little guidance. I had no idea what I was doing so ordered this kit and watched the video on YouTube. The only thing I additionally needed was a couple of tubes (I only used clean tubes from the aquarium) to siphon the finished product out of the gallon jar once the fermentation was complete. I was very impressed with how good it tasted. I ordered and used 2 identical kits with 2 different types of honey and they turned out to be completely different even though I made them the same way (and at the same time). I've noticed that the longer I let the mead ferment, the drier it gets. To stop the fermentation I just put the mead in a super cold fridge to stop the yeast. Oddly enough, my son entered our mead in the mead competition and we came third in the toughest category. I highly recommend this set. I ordered more for gifts because all my friends want my honey
