So you are a bit strange. I reliably wear a 7.5 in regular shoes and an 8 in sneakers including adidas. It's long and thin. I bought 8 and my feet slip out of them easily but when I wear thicker socks my toes get stuck. I don't know why but they seem too tight around the arches to me. My fingers are not numb. But I can't loosen the laces enough. However, with some wool hiking socks, they are not too long. The smaller size wouldn't fit me as they are quite tight. I don't think skinny is the wrong word, but they don't have much room except in the toes. They keep my feet dry and I loosen the laces as much as possible to keep my feet dry. toes from falling asleep. So I don't hate them, but they need a little more space. For context: I don't have a problem with tight shoes or anything. I sometimes have trouble with things being too tight around my arches.
