I received a free tube of these betta pellets when I bought my betta from the pet store. At first the fish flatly refused to eat them. Other reviewers noted that the balls might be too big for the fish to swallow, so I started cutting them in about half. A few days later the fish started eating them (probably because they were hungry at the time). When eating half of the granules, the fish seems to get stuck in the upper part of the aquarium at a 45 degree angle. My guess is that the fish eats the pellet and the pellet then expands in its digestive tract causing it to lose the ability to control its buoyancy (I didn't x-ray my fish to confirm this. LOL). I gave up pellets and switched to flakes. Since then the fish have been fine. Just to confirm that the pellets were the problem I switched back to feeding and the fish again got stuck at the top of the tank and swam sideways. NO THANKS, I will not use this stuff anymore!
