The conditioner really lacks glide

I have 3b/3c thigh length hair (very curly). I used the old formula and found that the old shampoo dried out and the old conditioner wasn't slippery but had the right amount of moisture. I have sometimes used an old conditioner as a leave-in. The reformulated shampoo seems less dry to me. It lathers very well and feels clean. I like it. The newly formulated conditioner has less slippage than the old formula. It's very watery and I used quite a bit to try and get rid of it. Unlike the old conditioner, it made my hair sticky. It seemed to cause more entanglements. I found this odd considering it contains a new silicone replacement ingredient. I actually had to wash it off and use another silicone-free conditioner to detangle it in the shower. I could get a lot more slip from cheap $1.00 silicone-free Vo5s or gentle conditioners, but I try to stick to products with clean ingredients. It has a minty scent similar to the old formula but slightly stronger. My son has short hair 2b/3a (wavy/curly). The shampoo is good but the conditioner was difficult to remove. I have also used my daughter's classic length 1b (straight) long hair shampoo and conditioner and had the same issue. We've all washed our hair once and used almost half a bottle of conditioner. There is still a lot of shampoo left. A little shampoo goes a long way and it lathers well and lightly. All three have high density hair with stiff strands. Overall I like the reformulated shampoo but I definitely won't use it more than once a week as it still dries up a bit. No air conditioning for us. It really lacks the glide; therefore it is difficult to detangle and distribute in the hair. I would recommend Puracy reformulating this conditioner and adding Marshmallow Root and Slippery Elm for slippage. I think this set (especially with conditioner) is best for short fine thin straight hair. ETA (03/16/2020): I have attached a comparison photo of the old formula (shampoo and conditioner) in white labeled bottles and the new formula (shampoo and conditioner) in new teal labeled bottles. I love the new turquoise labels.
