The one they sent me leaks, they sent me a new one so hopefully better the second time around. Use it to pump out a plumbing kit for a home heat pump. Allows my vacuum pump to draw a nice deep vacuum and the digital gauge shows this, but as soon as I closed the valve to isolate the system and gauge from the vacuum pump, the vacuum started to drop. At first I thought it was my vacuum gauge but I tested a known good one and they both have this problem. If you buy this and make sure it can hold a deep vacuum, here's what I suggest. Be sure to use a vacuum sealer for all connections. Nylog Blue seems to be a popular favorite.2. Using as few connections as possible from the vacuum pump, connect a vacuum gauge to this tool and make sure the valve is between the gauge and the pump.3. Remove the vacuum and see how much it drops after a few minutes. Mine went down about 50 microns.4. With the vacuum pump running, close the valve to isolate the pressure gauge. You can see a slight increase, but it shouldn't continue to increase too much. If yes, double check your connections as this is important. If the problem persists after that, the valve may be defective. Be sure to take my own advice and test it right away before relying on it being vacuum proof.
