Review on ๐Ÿ–ฑ๏ธ Unleash Your Gaming Potential with the ASUS ROG Chakram Wireless Aura Sync RGB Gaming Mouse โ€“ Featuring Optical Sensor and 16000 DPI by Sharon Triplett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

VERY premium feeling. Expensive. Hopefully it's worth it in the long run.

I've been using this mouse for almost 3 weeks. I spend a lot of time on the computer, gaming and creating, so my mouse gets a lot of attention. I've had 4 mice in the last 5 years, I'm not too picky but they ended up having some sort of problem not worth fixing. The only mouse I don't hate that still works is the Logitech 502, but I'm not a particularly big fan of its overall feel, especially the scroll wheel. My newest mouse, the Corsair M65 Elite, stopped registering left clicks. I got a replacement from Corsair and the replacement encountered the same issue nearly a year later. When I was looking for high-quality replacement mice, I came across the Asus ROG Chakram. To be honest, I didn't know Asus made peripherals. I've used their motherboards, monitors and graphics cards but didn't know they were in the keyboard and mouse business. I did a little review like almost everything I buy and thought the game was worth it. I haven't used a wireless mouse since like I have since 2002 so I figured they'd gotten better since then. First of all, this is a premium mouse and a well presented mouse that I have used so far. The box is large and has a soft-touch coating that is pleasant to the touch. There are many things in it; The highlights here, however, are the hardshell chassis with user-replaceable switches and joysticks. There's also a USB-A-to-C cable and a USB-C-to-A adapter (think using it with a wireless adapter if your computer doesn't have USB-A ports). The kit also includes, who knows why, a neoprene zippered pouch for the mouse and accessories. But in a nutshell, the mouse fits my hand almost perfectly. It has a gentle slant to the right, which I like, and the palm fills my small hand well. The clicks have a nice feel and can be changed with the included interchangeable switches (AMAZING!). A few of my other mice have had their switches fail, so I'm looking forward to an easy, solderless replacement or a full mouse replacement. The front and back buttons are easy to reach and have a nice little ridge to identify them. There are a few preset profiles and DPI settings that you can change, but I found the default settings to be very close to what I'm already used to. The pads on the bottom are nice and smooth and it glides easily over the nice mouse pad. not a "hardcore" gamer. It's a bit heavier than my old Corsair mouse, but then again I'm not someone who will notice 20 grams or someone who wants the world's lightest mouse with honeycomb holes for lightness. I've played dozens of hours of games and find it perfectly acceptable for everyday use and heavy gaming. I walked him through DOOM Eternal, so that's enough. ;-) I find the battery life somewhat disappointing. However, it's easy enough to charge with a USB cable or Qi charging. It goes into sleep mode after 3 minutes of inactivity, which saves battery life. This can be further configured using the Asus Crate software. The grip is not very comfortable in my opinion. It works, but my small hand needs a slight wrist adjustment to reach it easily. I remapped the thumb directions to the 1, 2, 3, 4 keys for easy remapping of the keyboard shortcuts for gaming. All in all I really hope to enjoy this mouse for a long time as it is not cheap. It's more than twice the price of the most expensive mouse I've bought to date, but I'm hoping that things like superior build quality and user-replaceable switches will help offset the cost for many, many years to come.
