Review on ASUS ROG Strix Flare Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Blue Switches - Aura Sync & SDK - Customizable Badge - USB Pass-Through - Media Controls by Jhalak Tamrakar ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like everything, the quality is good, the price is acceptable.

If the keyboard has RGB, then that RGB should be beautiful, interesting and functional. Otherwise, what for is it needed at all? Half the point of this keyboard is the backlighting (especially hinted at by the backlit sidebars that the competition doesn't have). And Asus lost this half somewhere. It's a shame, because Cherry MX Brown came to me, according to the materials the keyboard is good. But I had to return it, because. I'm not ready to wait for such a price and hope that Asus deigns to finish the software functionality.

Pros
  • - high-quality plastic with a very pleasant and non-staining coating. it is really difficult to smudge or stain the keyboard. - quite comfortable keycaps. - cherry mx brown switches. (if you choose the first mechanic and don't know what to take - take tactile brown) - multimedia control buttons and volume knob on the LEFT (no need to reach or take your hand off the mouse). - the material of the keycaps is pleasantly rough to the touch, only slightly inferior in tactile sensations to the keycaps of the Corsair K70 MK.2 keyboards (namely, their new Low Profile)
Cons
  • - the main drawback: extremely dull backlight software. knows practically nothing. If you want something a little more interesting from the backlight than choosing a solid color or one of several modes - DO NOT TAKE this keyboard. It is impossible to do even an elementary thing on it - the included monochromatic backlight and some kind of reaction to pressing the keys - you OR have a monochromatic backlight . OR something else. In general, you cannot combine multiple layers of lighting and effects. After the software from Corsair, it was just a shock. I did not think that such a well-made keyboard from Asus for such a price could have such a failed software. - it seems that the form factor tends to be compact, but still quite bulky. The media buttons and the volume rocker take up too much space. - a dull palm rest. cheap piece of plastic. at least they made a nice cover.
