Review on 1.6L Iron Cooking Oil Can With Strainer & Coaster Tray - Perfect For Bacon Grease Storage In Kitchen by Dru Labrado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sitting on the stove now.

Received it, washed it, and just happened to have some fresh bacon grease from that same morning in the cast iron skillet on the stove - so why not.I like the overall design, color, and materials. If there was any concern it would only be with how the knob on the top is attached with just a simple screw and washer - concerned that successive heating and cooling would cause it to loosen. On the other hand, such a simple design also makes it easy to fix should something happen.Personally it is probably much bigger than I need. If you fill this up even halfway you'll want to put it in the fridge so the grease doesn't go rancid. I know back in the day my grandparents ALWAYS had these sitting on the stove, but they cooked with bacon grease constantly back then. I have bacon grease in the fridge in a canning jar, but wanted something like this to make it easier to add bacon grease to recipes on the fly without first having to melt it or adding it into things in unmeasured lumps. Plus I also use bacon grease to season my outdoor cast iron charcoal grill and grill plates, so this again makes it convenient when changing from kitchen to grill. Will update the review if any new information becomes available.

Pros
  • This product is sturdy and easy to clean.
Cons
  • The can may be too heavy for some users to lift when filled with oil.
