Used 2 3/8" hole saw. The socket fitted perfectly. in my experience, pulling on the sleeve is typical for a sleeve with a hole for a mouse. The actual device is stiff enough to hold the ends of the cable so they don't fall through the hole, which is exactly what I wanted. more annoying than trying to hold on to something with one hand while the cord winds back into the shabby sub-floor of your desk.
