When I was tired I would go down a lot of sharp rocks on an advanced trail. Too late for a second. From the pain it seemed to me that I had torn my knee into 10 pieces. But when I got home and worked up the courage to fold back the knee brace to inspect the damage, I was startled to see just a scratch on my kneecap. Couldn't believe it.
