I'm pleasantly surprised at how strong and thick the fabric is. Well insulated and perfectly adaptable to your needs. I always wore a balaclava over my face with a warm scarf around my neck and chin and a hood over it; but my glasses might fog up. If I wrap the scarf around the outside of the hood instead, visibility is compromised. But they are perfect. With a face mask in the hood, I can pull it right over my mouth or nose to breathe easier and prevent frostbite. And the hood pulls down so you can shield yourself from the wind at will. My hair also doesn't start to push forward and fly into my face, which is annoying. When the temperature rises, I can pull the mask over my chin and/or pull the hood off my head. When my neck is cold, I'm cold, so not having a scarf is a bonus.
