Whole house water filter and charcoal canister system installed. The diagram suggested installing a bypass water circuit using straight ball valves, elbows, and tees. It was much simpler as it reduced the total number of fittings needed, the number of potential leaks and actually allowed more control over the water. Yes, it's a bit expensive, but cheaper than the total cost of 2 or 3 components for the same task. They appear to be very well made - good shaping and heavy components - and I spliced copper to PEX with no fuss. I really like that they can be rotated after installation to align things better, unlike sweaty copper tubing which can be finicky in tight spaces to get it exactly where you want it.
