Wood as in the photo, very nice. The shaft is assembled by connecting three segments and three legs need to be attached to the bottom segment. Here's the catch. Each leg is believed to be connected to the bottom bar by two connections: 1. a screw on the underside that goes into the bar, and 2. a dowel that goes into a pre-drilled hole on the bar. The screw doesn't fit well in the small hole on the shank, so the fool isn't attached. The dowel doesn't make a proper connection either. So these two protection mechanisms DO NOT WORK. The foot dangles, and no matter how hard I tried to attach it to the shank, it always stayed loose and separated from the shank. I tried for an hour and was disgusted. I am returning this item; It was a waste of my energy and time. BUT THE WOOD IS VERY GOOD. PS I know how to work with a screwdriver. ### Update: A replacement has been selected. The legs are correctly attached to the shaft. The spread of the legs is completely sufficient and ensures great stability. It looks really nice. The top of the tree is unfinished with a hole for something not intended. The original mmustve was a lemon.
