For years I have had very inexpensive nail cleaners/cuticle pushers which are usually stamped from cheap metal and have one square end and one pointed end. I originally looked for one of these when my usual source stopped carrying them and I'm very glad I ordered this one instead. cuticle remover to soften them). I couldn't be more wrong. It is very effective and the best part is that its smooth surface not only allows me to remove dead cuticles but also pushes back live cuticles very effectively without fear of tearing, scraping or cutting them. a learning curve for cleaning under the nails, but I understand how much less likely I'm going to injure myself from over-enthusiasm while cleaning than the pointed shape. It is also good for removing softened cuticle tissue from the base of the nail after pushing back the living cuticle. The whole instrument is solid, heavy and well made. For the price I'll be ordering a few more to have a spare and one in my bag for a quick nail cleaner.
