Compared to your typical heavy duty garage type shelving these are beyond super easy to assemble. I did need to use a rubber mallet to firmly lock the pieces into place. If memory serves the original description says they can be assembled without any tools but that was really not the case. Maybe by someone with a whole lot more upper arm strength. Did not detract from my opinion of them in any way. Shelves are fully adjustable and no super annoying plastic stoppers for shelf support which rarely seem to work right. They hold a good deal of weight and are not cheap looking. The only wish I had was that the plastic end caps came pre-assembled. The ends of the corner supports are very sharp (hence the plastic end caps) and I did cut myself (minor) a couple of time while trying to fit them into place. The easiest method I found was to insert the small end openings and then gently tap the corner into place with a rubber mallet.
