Sometimes it makes scary noises like it's broken. Sometimes it goes away on its own, sometimes it stays. I was afraid to touch it to turn it off the first time it made that noise, thinking I might get electrocuted, but it sure was. I just turn it off and on again and it stops making that noise. I think it has something to do with the "scrub" but I'm not sure if it actually cleans the air since the water isn't even slightly polluted. It's better than my essential oil diffuser, so I decided to keep it to myself. I bought this hoping it would replace my HEPA filter cleaner which is taking up too much space but ended up keeping my HEPA filter cleaner.
