Fastening material is cheap scrap. The U-bolts are too open to let the nut/bolt through. Even the gorilla squeezing them with pliers (apparently awful for the strength of the metal) to squeeze them a little tighter wasn't a craps game. One bolt barely pushed through, hoping the stretch would hold up without a nut (doubtful at the track), and the second didn't make it through. The shields and mirrors themselves were nice, but the fasteners weren't worth it. 45 minutes of work to find out it's not viable. Spring.
