Review on Casablanca Panama Indoor Ceiling Fan - Enhanced with Remote Control for Superior Performance by John Pound

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great fan, quiet but lightweight kits seem to be on the wane

I bought this fan to replace a 20 year old Casablanca fan that was wobbly and I couldn't fix it. The fan was relatively easy to install, although I had trouble pairing the remote. The fan is very quiet. If you're adding a lighting kit, make sure you can actually buy a lighting kit of the color you want! Hunter/Casablanca have listed several options in their catalog such as B. four interior lights, glass shell styles with either 3 interior lights, or the newer LED recessed light. But when I went to buy the four interiors in my color, they were all sold out and it's unclear if Casablanca/Hunter will stock them in the future. I had to buy the Casablanca lighting kit on e-bay. The Casablanca webpage only shows outdoor and shell lights as of October 2020, so I'm not sure which direction they're headed in the future. In my bedroom, the skylight is the main source of light for the room. The luminous flux of lamps with a shell is significantly lower than that of four lamps. Two installation tips that should be in the guide: a) When you are at the screw attachment point above the fan, cover the open slots in the fan case with a towel so you don't have to remove the screw if you drop the fan and shake it the screw from the housing. And b) when you turn on the fan and pair the remote control, read the instructions that tell you to put the batteries in and press the SET button 30 seconds after the first power on.
