The humidity in the Midwest in August made breathing through a wet paper mask almost impossible! These saved me! They attach easily to both paper and cloth masks and keep the mask far enough away from my face that I can breathe even in the high humidity of the building I work in that requires me to wear the mask. I used to be out of breath walking through the building because the rag was on my face and I couldn't breathe properly. I don't have that problem now. I still feel snug and I don't feel any more air coming out of my mask with the strap than without.
