In the past I have used cable ties along with velcro and tape to secure and organize cables under my desk. While these things worked, they were too difficult to maintain, requiring a lot of work each time a cable needed to be removed or added. Therefore, when assembling my new computer, I was reluctant to mess with the wiring until I was certain my settings would not be changed. This product changed my mind. I came across the cable rail while looking for more Velcro straps and was intrigued. I had never heard of "cable grommets" before, but thought the product was worth a try and $25 didn't seem like a bad starting investment. It wasn't until the package arrived that I realized how useful it would be. I decided that I would run tracks down one side of my desk, across the back, and then down the other side, which would allow me to place my computer on the more comfortable side of my desk. I would never do it otherwise because the mass of cables would be very visible. The cable channel was large enough for all of my PC cables, but not so large that it was noticeable and looked awful. do not sag or allow cables to fall out. I had to cut a few pieces to fill in small spots but I used metal scissors and the cuts came out clean. After putting everything together I realized I needed to add a few more and immediately remembered why I wanted to hold off on that. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to quickly remove the covers, insert a new cable, and then reassemble everything. All in all I can't recommend it more. It may be overkill for some situations, but if you like neat places, it will help you a lot.
