Review on 🔒 Reese Towpower 7007500 Black Safety Cable - 40 Inch by Dee Holt

My trailer fell off my ball hitch and these tethers saved my boat. I have been towing boats for 20 years and this only happened 3 months ago. In fact, when I received these cables I also realized that they were too small for what I already had on my boat. However, they were a lot less rusty than the ones I had already installed, so I took them out to buy new/larger ones when the opportunity arose. Just 4 days later my fancy chrome ball hitch fell off at 70mph on the freeway and they took full impact of the trailer jerking backwards and then the boat crashed into the back of my Lexus and shattered the rear window as I braked hard. The impact on the rear of my car was so severe that the boat trailer's front Y-pillar was bent. I had two seat belts on the back of the boat which luckily took all traction. I had a hard time maintaining control and there was no sway on them other than what you would normally expect from a very quick stop. Luckily no one was hurt and I'm amazed I was able to stay in control. This is a 3500lb boat and my maximum weight I can tow a Lexus is 3500. Fully loaded this boat weighs over 4000lb. The trailer brakes no longer worked, so the Lexus braked to stop him. These safety lines worked great and I hope this never happens again.
