I've had an OtterBox Defender case for every phone since the Galaxy S3 (5 cases minimum). A common problem I've encountered is the rubber on the case wearing out over the course of a month or two. I've had to buy at least one replacement for every Defender case I've ever owned. But to my delight they seem to have changed something and so far this hasn't been a problem for me on my S9. I'm not entirely happy with their design without a screen protector, but it seems like all major companies do this with curved screen models. I'd say it makes sense, but you can buy screen protectors separately, even from OtterBox. I don't understand why this still can't be enabled. But it is neither here nor there. The case is well made and has served me well. All my defenders. I've never damaged the phone despite drops, bumps and being thrown straight around the room. All in all, this version is a big improvement.
