This is a good bank and fairly accurate coin count. However, it can be a bit tricky to slide a coin into the coin slot, so we had 2 instances where we started pushing the coin down but didn't push hard enough for it to bounce back, but the bank still counted the coin . So if you don't insert a coin through the bottom with the key, or reset the counter and reinsert all the coins, your balance will be deactivated. I also bought it for my daughter who is just over a year old. She's dropped it a few times and for the most part it's holding up well, except the last time she dropped it (in a carpeted room) the owl's nose broke off and she's definitely small enough to latch on to suffocate
