These are the best shoes I have ever owned. I'm competing in an Ironman/marathon so I spend a lot of time in running shoes. They give me a 5-10 second per mile head start, so I think there is something to the carbon plate. I'm an average height for a distance athlete and I can't run 300 miles barefoot, but I can't get out of most running shoes. You are a bit small. I increased the size by 1/2 and they were perfect! The toe is medium and the heel is a bit wide. Great shoes. I ordered 4 pairs as Nike likes to change shoes.
